I hope you have all enjoyed the amazing weather we have experienced. Everyone at Oakdown has made the most of the sunshine.

Residents, families and friends of Oakdown House had a Hawaiian themed festival in August. It was a very colourful afternoon with amazing decorations made by residents and the Day Service Team. There were ice creams from Geno Gelato, a BBQ, flower garlands, photo backdrops and music from Jasmine and Covervision!

Oakdown House residents also enjoyed a sports day this summer complete with medals. Residents particularly enjoyed the water games which helped to cool them down in the warm weather.

We are so lucky in East Sussex to have so many accessible places to visit. Residents of both homes have enjoyed visiting Raystede Centre for Animal Welfare, Drusillas and many of Sussex’s seaside towns.

Lots of the residents enjoy ten pin bowling so Oakdown and Carricks met for an inter home competition which was won by Carricks, fun was had by all though!

Residents from both homes continue to enjoy the Oakdown on-site swim spa. Although the spa is currently useable all year round, the ‘Friends of Oakdown Trust’ are currently raising money to construct a more robust housing for the swim spa to make it an even more enjoyable experience.
